Driving Digital is hosted by Sue Robinson, Chief Executive of the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA). This year’s event comes as we begin a return to certain level of normality.
The NFDA has been providing outstanding support to dealers before and throughout the pandemic.
When a degree of panic faced the industry, Sue was able to bring dealers together. The NFDA established regular calls with dealer members and circulated daily bulletins to provide timely guidance and discuss all key issues facing the sector.
When only essential services were permitted, navigating our way through this time was made easier by the support of Sue and her team.
The NFDA was also successful at lobbying to get the automotive sector open a fortnight earlier than other non-essential retailers due to the sheer scales of the premises and the importance of getting the country back up and running again.
The association created clear, automotive specific guidelines in conjunction with manufacturers-SMMT and Government departments to outline how dealers were to operate and cope with the first lockdown when barely any trade was taking place and, subsequently, when they could reopen.
Now, as the economy reopens, it will be interesting to see how customers react. It is a challenging situation which we are sure the NFDA will be there again to support us with.
While providing a united voice for dealers and lobbying on behalf of the sector, the NFDA is also working closely with members during the the transition to electric vehicles, to keep the industry moving forward at all times. Particularly, through its Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) accreditation scheme which continues to expand.
The three key themes of Driving Digital are going green, going digital and going fast.
Electrification, digitalisation and speed of this change.
